Apple states that Vision Pro does not work with hard contact lenses

Apple advises against using the Apple Vision Pro while wearing hard contact lenses, as stated in the pre-order process for its new spatial computing headset.

According to a newly linked support document, Apple notes that wearing hard contacts "might impact your experience with ‌Apple Vision Pro‌." The company suggests that individuals using hard contacts without glasses may find ZEISS Optical Inserts to be a suitable alternative.

If you encounter difficulty with eye tracking and your eye care provider recommends glasses with a comprehensive prescription, Apple suggests considering ZEISS Optical Inserts. Alternatively, users can opt for an alternative input method, such as Pointer Control.

For those who have undergone monovision corrective surgery, Apple recommends consulting with an eye care provider for a comprehensive prescription within the supported range for ‌Apple Vision Pro‌. Apple emphasizes that while the headset generally works well with most soft contact lenses, cosmetic contact lenses are not compatible and should be removed before using the device.

Apple also provides guidance for individuals with diagnosed vision conditions. Conditions such as eyelid drooping, changes in eye alignment (including strabismus or lazy eye), or uncontrolled eye movements (including nystagmus) may pose challenges for Apple Vision Pro in properly detecting eyes, potentially impacting the visual experience.

To address these challenges, Apple suggests users adapt ‌Apple Vision Pro‌ to their needs by utilizing the headset's accessibility features. Instead of relying on their eyes, users can navigate using their wrist, head, index finger, or voice.
